POSITION VACANT: Little Rainmakers Childcare Centre is seeking a qualified supervising officer who has their diploma of Childcare, current police clearance and Working with Children check. WARNING 1080 POISON BAITS: Please be advised that the Shire of Quairading will be laying 1080 poison baits in the Quairading Town Common (cemetery) Reserve commencing 1 December 2011 and concluding 30 December 2011 to control the large numbers of rabbits that populate the reserve. KEELA STREET FESTIVAL: You will be able to meet performers from the Desert Feet Tour, Gina Williams and the Urban Youth Crew when they hit town for the Kellerberrin Xmas party on Friday 16 December between 5 – 10 pm. As well as the free concert there will be lots of fun for the whole family including open dance workshops with the Urban Youth Crew, rides, stalls, face painting, food and Father Christmas making a special guest appearance.
FATHER CHRISTMAS: will be at the Co-op on Saturday 17 December from 10 am – 11 am. The Bel Canto Singers will also be in store bringing us Christmas cheer.
PAINTBALLING: Saturday 17 December at Muchea: 9 am prompt start for safety briefing. Tickets $60 each includes entry, equipment, 200 paintballs, lunch and soft drink. Free Community bus leaves Quairading ~ 7 am. Minimum age limit is 12. Subsidised tickets available for Youth who have 3 signed-off fundraising hours. SCSC: SANTA IS COMING TO SOUTH CAROLING THIS SATURDAY 17 December! It is our annual SCSC Xmas Tree & Simpson Family Trophy. Tennis starting at 1:30 pm for a 2 pm start. Could members please arrive at 1 pm to help with busy bee and set-up. PLEASE NOTE: we will be having nibblies instead of a BBQ dinner. Please bring a plate of sweet and savoury nibblies to share. WAMENUSKING SPORTS CLUB XMAS TREE: On Sunday 18 December from 5 pm onwards. Please bring a cold meat and salad platter and a finger sweet to share. Santa will be arriving after tea. Children's gift to the value of between $10 - $15. All welcome.

RSM BIRD CAMERON: We now have eftpos facilities. We will be closed from Friday 23 December to 18 January 2012. All enquiries can be directed to Lindsay Prosser on 9063 2154 during this time.
SHIRE ADMINISTRATION AND WORKS DEPOT CLOSURE: We will be closed from Friday 23 December and reopening on Tuesday 3 January 2012. Transport Licensing will not be available so please ensure you have paid your accounts prior to the closure. For all emergencies please telephone 9645 1001. Your call will be diverted to a mobile telephone and attended to as soon as possible.
HARVEST BANS ON PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: Harvest Bans will be placed upon the Shire of Quairading on Sunday 25 December, Monday 26 December and Sunday 1 January 2012.
SWIMMING POOL CLOSURE: The Swimming Pool will be closed from Sunday 25 December to Wednesday 28 December (inc). The Pool will be open again on Thursday 29 December 2011.
LANDFILL SITE CLOSURE: The Landfill Site will be closed on the following Public Holidays: Sunday 25 December, Monday 26 December, Sunday 1 January and Monday 2 January.
KERBSIDE RUBBISH COLLECTION: Avon Waste will be providing a normal Rubbish Collection Service on Monday 26 December and Monday 2 January.
NEW YEARS EVE @ SOUTH CAROLING: Mark your calendar for an event not to be missed! Come along and enjoy the live music of a band. More details to follow.

INFANT SWIMMNG LESSONS: 6mths to 5 year olds. We have had ten parents pay so swimming lessons for little kids will be going ahead February next year. DOWERIN D.H.S. is looking for 2 x Swimming Teachers for their In Term Swimming Program in 2012. To be held from 6 February until 17 February 11 am—3 pm. DOCTORS’ SURGERY XMAS HOURS: The surgery will be closed over the Xmas and New Year period – 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 December and 2 January. SALTCAP – SEEKING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: Wheatbelt farmers in the Avon River Basin have an opportunity to participate in the Wheatbelt NRM project evaluating ‘SaltCap’, a decision support system that enables landholders to select and establish appropriate saline management systems. The target area is the Shires of Bruce Rock, Trayning & Wongan Hills but farms from surrounding Shires are eligible. The program involves training using a saltland decision support tool, support in implementation of recommendations and 12c saltbush seedlings (max 20ha/20,000 seedlings) to be planted in 2012.
