QUAIRADING CWA MEMBERS:   Next meeting date Friday August 13th at 9.30am in CWA Rooms Parker Street.  Bus trip has been cancelled.

BELLES SCRATCH MATCH : With a 3 week break until our semi-final, Belles would like to invite all interested netballers to help us keep up our form by joining in a scratch match this Friday evening at 6.30pm. We hope to see you there and for nibbles and refreshments afterwards. Thanks for your support!

RURAL AMBASSADOR AWARD:   Good luck to Ben Wilson, who will be competing for the WA Rural Ambassodor Award this weekend. 

JUNIOR SPORTS WINDUP -  The Junior Netball and Football windup will be held at the Community Building TODAY Friday August 13, 2010, incorporating games, presentations and hamburgers. A free hamburger and drink will be provided to junior members and hamburgers are available for parents and siblings to purchase for $5, Cool drinks $2. This is a junior sport fundraising event and there is an agreement requiring no service of alcohol at junior events. The Senior Football club's bar facility is available after the junior windup. WALKS IN THE NATURE RESERVE   The next walk will be Sunday 15th August commencing at 10:00am. We meet in the car park and everyone is very welcome.

TOURISM & TIDY TOWN:  The town will be judged on Monday 16th August and we are appealing to all townspeople to make sure your front garden and verge are tidy before then.

JUNIOR GOLF WINDUP - all families, extended family and interested people are invited to attend our junior golf windup casserole tea and presentations on Tuesday 17th August 2010. Hit-off for juniors (3, 6 & 9 holes) will be from 2.45pm with presentations from approx. 5.30pm followed by casserole tea.  Could all junior golf families please provide a large casserole to share - thanks.  Good luck to all players!

QUAIRADING PLAYGROUP INVITATION DAY - Quairading Playgroup would like to put out a special invitation to all mums, dads and grandparents and their little ones to come to Playgroup on Monday 23rd August.  We are having a special morning tea to introduce playgroup to new families.  Members please bring along a plate.  Playgroup is located at the Kindy Building on Murphy Street 9:30am - 11am.  Hope to see you there!

SENIORS/QARRAS:   Monday 23rd August, Carpet Bowls 2-4pm.  Bring along a plate of afternoon tea.  Also a quick reminder – AGM Monday 13th September.

AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT MOBILE OFFICE ASSISTANCE – CENTRELINK:   The Aust. Government Mobile Offices are supporting rural communities by providing convenient access to Aust. Government payments and services.  These specialised vehicles offer a wide range of assistance for seniors, students, families, farmers and farming-based small businesses to meet the changing needs of rural communities.  The Mobile Office will be visiting Quairading on TUESDAY 24th AUGUST and will be parked in the Parker Street Car Park from 10am to 5pm.

QUAIRADING FARMERS CO-OP:  Nominations are called to fill 4 vacancies on the Board of Directors.  Retiring Directors Trevor Bond and Robyn Richards offer themselves for re-election.  Retiring Director Shauna Stone is not offering herself for re-election.  Nominations close 5pm Friday 27th August, 2010.  Nomination forms are available at the Co-op Office.

FOOTY 2ND SEMI FINAL: Quairading Football Club are hosting the 2nd semi final in Quairading Sunday 29th August we will require supervisors and helpers in the canteen. This is a great fundraiser for the club so if you could spare 2 hours on the day it would be greatly appreciated. Phone Robyn 9646 6208

 

QUAIRADING AG SOCIETY:   Last meeting before the show will be held on Monday 30th August at the CRC starting at 7.30pm.  All welcome.  

QDG BADMINTON CLUB SOCIAL EVENT - will be held on Tuesday 31st August.  We are inviting all Qdg Baddy Club Members new and old to join us for lunch at Greenhills.  The bus will leave the Town Hall at 10am, drive to Greenhills for lunch and return at 2pm.  It is $6 for the bus plus lunch. There will be room on the bus for children. QUILTERS OF QUAIRADING FINISHING OFF WEEKEND 4th and 5th September at the Community Building.  Details and form in Banksia Bulletin.  Please be aware that Michaela is away from 11th August for 3 weeks so if you want to get in quick post to Chrissy Gors, just remember numbers are restricted.

VISITING PODIATRIST: Deb Schoen from Schoen Podiatry will be visiting Quairading every 6 weeks, appointments can be made at the Doctors Surgery. Other dates for your diary are 7th September, 15th October and 26th November.

GOPHER AND WHEELCHAIR EVENT in the Quairading Community Nature Reserve will take place on Wednesday 8th September. We have invited Cunderdin and Corrigin to join us for the day. (On recent form, crops can be assured of a good rainfall on that day!) Our committee is looking for assistance with wheelchair pushers and assistants and morning tea preparers. Anyone who wants to be a part of that day, please contact Rowlie Mellor on 9645 1439.

DANCING:   Bring along a partner for some fun exercise in great company while learning to dance from the best.  We can choose the dances we want to learn. Sat 11th Sept @ the Town Hall.  Names must be given to Debra 0428 451095, before Tues 7th Sept. 

DENTAL SURGERY HOLIDAYS - Please note that the last day the dentist will be here before they go on holidays will be the 16th September 2010. They will be returning on the 4th November 2010. Appointments can be made through the Shire Office on 9645 1001.

QUAIRADING SHOW BUSY BEE:   Will be held on THURSDAY 16th SEPTEMBER starting at 8am, we would love to see lots of helpers, if you can help please come down to the Ag Hall.

LADIES GOLF NEWS: Avon Valley results, 26 ladies played in the 4 ball last Wednesday with Sue Shenton & Robyn Richards been R/up with +16. 20 ladies stayed to play on Thursday & Friday with Judy Clemens R/up on Thursday with 63nett & Maggie Hadlow winning Friday with 65 nett and R/up in the Vets section. Well done to everyone. QUAIRADING SHOW SCHEDULE:   Don’t forget to pick one up from the Newsagency or Resource Centre.  If you have never entered before, this is a great year to start.  This year is the 90th Quairading Show so lets celebrate by filling the hall to the roof and really show of the talents of the Quairading community, if you have any queries please contact Julie on 96450096 (work) or drop into the Resource Centre. 

SHEEPBREEDERS:   With the industry looking really good, this is the year to have a good showing of sheep and wool at the Quairading Show on Saturday 18th September.  Why not consider putting some sheep or wool in, grab a schedule from the Newsagency or CRC or ring Noel Stone or Chris Squires or Greg Hayes.

QUAIRADING SHOW  We would like to invite all community residents to become members of the Quairading Ag Society.  A membership is $24.00 and gives you entry to the Show for two adults and two children.  (Gate prices will be $12 per adult and $5 per child).  If you would like to become a member please see Julie at the QCRC (Telecentre).  Any queries, please contact Sue Anderson (Hon Treasurer) 9645 5228.
